for some reason the ressies match report wont load up. anyway they won 5 - 0. pat scored, then an own goal and then robs got three. heres the report

Yet again under a blistering sun, a confident Griffith Uni Reserves team stepped out to contiune their unbeated run against their much less fancied opponents Musgrave Mustangs. Griffith dominated the whole game against an understrength Musgrave and were rarely threatened in their own half. However, despite creating a glut of chances and having the majority of the ball the Students failed to capitalise on their one man advantage and the half time the score remained tied at zero due to some wasteful finishing up front.

The second period opened much the same as the first, with Griffith again showing dominance over an increasingly tired and frustrated Musgrave side. Finally in the 60th minute, a fast break down the left flank and swift cross was into the box by Jake was converted to break the deadlock and put Griffith in front. With the students now almost constantly on the attack, a Musgrave defender decided to help out Uni with their second goal heading Andys cross past the keeper and into the back of his own net.

Despite the heat, Griffith kept the work rate high with strong running from Dan, Damien and Fabian allowing super-sub and keeper-cum-striker Rob to put his stamp on the game converting three goals in just twenty minutes to well and truly close out the game.

A mention must go to the back four for yet another solid performance in defence which was rewarded with a clean sheet, and also to our resident Canadian Jimmy in goals for staying awake...

Training on Thursday nights has moved venue. We will now be training for the rest of the year on grass at the Touch Fields opposite Harbour Town on Olsen Ave. Training will be 7pm till 9pm as per normal.

no we created the chances and just missed. they should never have gave us the amount of chances we had if they were not allowing us. we missed an open net and had a free header from a corner that hit the cross bar, on top of the chances that we hit wide or straight at the keeper. if they were so good they never would of allowed us that.

From tonight onwards, every Tuesday and Thursday night we will be training from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Keith Hunt Park, Musgrave Ave, Labrador (Musgrave Soccer Club). We train on the fields that run parallel to the main road. Any problems call Ashley on 0417 644 534.

Hey Lads

For those in the 4th team playing at Robina, so u were not informed about the game being cancelled but the fields were open according to website so no idea why there was no game... sorry.

As for first division... what can i say... 30 players in the squad and only 16 players turned up. Out of the 14 who did not turn up only 5 people let me know and some of those excuses were poor.... unacceptable... we have a game every weekend... not once every so often. If you cannot play a game on the weekend it is easy to either post something on the website or sms John or myself.... make sure it happens in future as 7 players had to back up for 2 games...

Everyone is to be at training on Tuesday and after training we will be going out for a few drinks as Trygve leaves on Friday... I will have the showers open so that players can get changed before heading out if they would like...
